Essential information

"I've been using Private Reserves since its inception and I have nothing but praise for its consistent quality and promptness of service, attention to detail and good humour of its people. Given the vagaries of service at this end of the wine chain, Private Reserves remains an oasis of calm and efficiency."
Graham Nutter owner of Domaine St Jacques d'Albas and collector.

Valuations

The valuations are provided by Liv-ex and are updated every three months.  Liv-ex is an independent company and its valuations give an extremely accurate indication of the market value of your wines.  Notwithstanding their huge database there are Burgundies, Rhones and lesser Clarets that they are unable to value as there is no secondary market in these wines.  Furthermore vintages that are still in barrel or haven’t been shipped are not valued.

If you have any queries about the value of any of your wines or may be interested in selling them please contact James Low on 020 7793 7900 or click here to send an e-mail.

Drinking Dates

Your list of reserves gives you two drinking dates.  The first is when we consider the wine will start to be enjoyable to drink.  The wine will then go on maturing and improving over a number of years.  The second date is when we think the wine will begin to decline.  Please note that these are only a guide as wines are full of surprises and mature differently and at varying speeds.

Tasting Notes

We provide tasting notes from Goedhuis & Co and from the most respected wine journalists and wine publications from around the world, including:

Burghound
Clive Coates
Matthew Jukes
Robert Parker
Jancis Robinson
James Suckling

Simply click on the wine name in My Reserves to view the tasting notes.
Unfortunately there will be wines that none of these experts have tasted.

Valuations, drinking dates and tasting notes can be viewed direct from your wine list even after you have had wines delivered.

"Run with great dedication to a wine collector’s needs."
Jancis Robinson
