Storage is charged per annum in advance from 1st April to 31st March. Wines received during the year are charged pro-rata for the number of months remaining in the storage year. For example, a wine received at the beginning of October will be charged at 50% of the annual rate.

Moving Your Wine to Private Reserves

When having your wine delivered to our cellars, please provide us with a full list of your wines and instruct delivery to:

If you are storing wines under bond we will need to know the price you paid for the wine. This is required by Customs and Excise and is used to calculate VAT when you withdraw your wines from bond. If you can please send a copy of the purchase invoice to us prior to the arrival of your wines we can ensure the prompt landing of the wine to your account.

There is an initial one-off charge on each case.
1 case                                              £5.50  ( £6.60 inc VAT)
2-4 cases of the same wine £3.95  ( £4.74 inc VAT)
5+ cases of the same wine  £1.95   (£2.34 inc VAT)

There is no handling charge for wine bought from Goedhuis & Co.

Please note cases are not opened and physically checked on arrival at the warehouse. The exterior of the case is however checked for any signs of damage or discrepancies. If you would like your cases to be opened and physically checked on arrival please let us know, and we will be happy to arrange this for you for a charge of £5.00 plus VAT. 

Private Reserves cannot be held responsible for the quality of wines which have not been bought from Goedhuis & Co due to their unknown provenance, unless opened and physically checked as above.


Upon instruction of delivery of your wine you will incur a delivery charge. For wines stored under bond you are also required to pay duty and VAT at the prevailing rate on the original purchase price of the wine. These charges are at present £25.98 per dozen and 20% respectively. Your wines will not be delivered until Duty and VAT have been paid. When asking for delivery we require written, faxed or e-mailed confirmation. 

Our delivery rates (outside central London) are as follows (except Scotland, Highlands and Islands): 

1    case:      £18.00 ( £21.60 inc VAT)
2    cases:    £32.00 ( £38.40 inc VAT) 
3-5 cases:   £45.00( £54.00 inc VAT)

6+ cases (please ask us and we will provide a quote)

Central London deliveries will be charged as follows: .
1- 4  cases:  £25.00  ( £30 inc VAT)
5-10 cases: £30.00  ( £36 inc VAT)

Premium Charges (additional cost):
-time specific: £16.00 ( £19.20 inc VAT)
-AM/PM: £7.00             ( £8.40 inc VAT)
-24hour deliveries outside central London: £15.00 ( £18 inc VAT)
Deliveries are made from Monday to Friday between 8am-6pm. Saturday deliveries are available on request, but do incur a surplus charges from £55.00 plus VAT depending on postcode and quantity.
Standard deliveries will be made to the entrance of the premises. Please see below for enhanced service options.

Collection charges are the same rate as deliveries.

Administration fee for transfer within Octavian or release for collection will be charged at the following rate:
1 case:               £5.00       ( £ 6.00 inc VAT)
2-10 cases:     £10.00    ( £12.00 inc VAT)
11-20 cases:  £20.00    ( £24.00 inc VAT)
21-30 cases:  £30.00
Charges for delivery to other bonded warehouse vary, please email us for a quote.


The process for preparing wine for export and seeking appropriate insurance cover is a lengthy one. We charge a minimum of £40.00 plus VAT for this administrative process.
